Where to start

That was a question as this site is about my model railway, but with out a little bit of back history about myself the I don't think this would have worked. Back in 2014 I decided to build a shed in my garden to host another progect I was working on at the time. The shed was built completely from scratch and half of it was to house a flight simulator I was building at the time.

As I mentioned half the shed was to house my flight simulator which was the project I was working on at the time.

In 2023 I made the decission to remove the flight simulator and replace it with a model railway. unfortunatly I have no pictures of that railway.

In 2024 I soon became aware that I was not happy with the design of the layout I had been working on for the past 12 months or indeed the space in which I had to work in, So with that I then decided to start afresh, but this meant a redesign of the shed to remove the central partition which had split it into two separate spaces to give me one large space.

I will not go into the shed redesign or build, but just to say as I removed the central partition in order to strengthen the shed I also re did the roof, added extra internal strengthening, completely revamped the frontage with only a single door, this gave me extra space for the new layout.

In addition to all that the inside was completely insulated and a new floor was added.
